Gamer 1441
I'm trying to run Gears of War on my laptop, but it keeps giving me an error that I need to download the Forceware 163.44 Driver Update. I am unsuccessful in finding the correct one that will work on my laptop, a HP Pavillion dv6000 (dv6113TX) with the GeForce 7400 GO 256mb graphics card. I'm not fussy about graphics and stuff, I just want the game to run properly, currently there are no cutscenes playing and no sound after a short while, including non-responsive buttons. EDIT: Mostly what I need is the right version, i downloaded the one for XP 64 bit, and the modded INF, but it has an error talking about the OS. I'm using XP media centre Edition, 2003 I think, so I'm not sure whether i should be downloading fro, the 98/ME area or the 64 bit area. It's getting really frustrating now. EDIT Again: I can get it to work, but the message now says that the driver is older than the one currently installed, should I proceed with installing? Bill
You want the 32 bit XP driver for MCE edition, there isn't an XP MCE 64 bit, and there probably never will be. Just unpack, replace INF, should be good to go. If you have a newer driver, uninstall it and reboot before installing the older one.
Gamer 1441
The graphics card problem is fixed now, but the game still doesn't work properly, but thats another department. Thanks for all your help :)
