Guest Guest
Hi thereI have Dell Vostro 1500 Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 @ 2ghz 2GB ram Geforce 8600m gt Win Xp i did 3dmark06 test today and got low marks only 2100~ then i've installed 171.16 and overclocked it 660/1320/500,well i got higher marks 2473 very low cpu marks and somehow it recognizes my card as geforce GO 8600 GS what can be wrong?'ive got this laptop only few months ago,any help or suggestions would be appreciated cheers! Im having exactly the same problem on a dell XPS i just bought. About to try it on the 2nd identical system dell XPS i bought. T8100@ 2.1ghz 3GB ram, Geforce 8600M GT 256MB Vista Home. SP1 2325 3DMarks no overclocking Very low CPU scores like you, it is also recognising the 8600M GT as a 8600 Go GS in the results, although initially it thinks its a 8600M GT. Very strange Anybody have any ideas? Surely scores shouldn't be this low on a laptop of this spec? Help!

Guest Guest
Problem Solved, Both of the XPS's out of the box are set to power saving mode. Even when they are plugged into AC it doesnt automatically adjust. Simply solved by turning it upto performance. 3DMarks 4633, no overclocking. That makes me happier :) Hope that solves the other guys problem

Guest mo
I had the "Driver stopped working and recovered" problem with the 175.75 vista 64bits drivers on a 8600m GT, maybe the 175.16 will stop this problem or the .80 ?I heard every drivers from the 175.xx type has this problem. I have a Acer 5920G w/ 8600MGT (256MB DDR2) and use 175.75 with no problems- using Vista x64 Ultimate. Make sure you have the specific hotfixes for game performance from M$, and check nvidia's site, they have a compendium of links for vista related updates, etc. I'm also overclocked @ 575/1150/420 at the moment and idling @ 58C.....with a dual fan air duct mover fan proped under it...w/o i idle around 62C. Guest pinkerton
I've been pretty dissapointed in my laptop from ZT Systems. My scores aren't near what others are getting at all. 1717 in 3dmark06 at 1280x800 at default settings 1941 at 1024x768 8600m gt t5450 c2d @ 1.66 3g ddr2 the only thing i see that's generally worse than other folks here is the cpu is a 1.6 but that shouldn't hurt my score too badly. my score is loooooow. what's up with this? running 174.93 drivers

Accordingly to the nvidia site all those updates are now present in the Vista SP1 and i have it installed, so i guess that maybe its and overheating issue ? Because i do feel the difference to the 175.75 drivers from the 156.10. But the "driver stopped responding" issue is really big and pretty annoying. :)
Guest Soravit
Hi all. I have Acer Aspire 5920G -Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2,0GHz -2Gb DDR2 RAM -NVIDIA GeForce 8600M-GT 512Mb DDR2 -OS : Windows Vista 32-Bit I try to use rivatuner tuning the fan of 8600M-GT . I have rivatuner V2.09 and 175.80 driver. The problem is rivatuner didn't show the fan tab. I have set the AllowBinaryFanControl to 1 but still it didn't show. After I do some research, I found out that the fan tab will show if you have the fan control IC. Can anyone comfirm me that Acer Aspire 5920G cannot use rivatuner to tune the fan. Thank You for all answers. :)

I was wondering if my problem was "normal" (DELL) or not and what i could do to improve it, i have inbstalled rivatuner but I didn't start to OC yet... Thanks for the help
