Ok, PowerMizer is enabled but it doesn't take effect. Any idea?

Actually, I never could see any real temperature / power consumption difference either during idle, whether I had powermizer enabled or not.

In your case I would rather suspect that the 2400 had a better power consumption management.

I read all the posts but i cannot flash my 8600mgt in the 5920g.

When I give the instructions on nvflash i can hear 2 short beeps, (after usb activity 1 or 2 seconds) what does it means?

This 8600M GT was taken from a Compal FL90, but i dont know what manufacturer is. I only can see this codes "SAM NB8P-GS 512MB"

i have only a black screen..no post

any ideas?

so if i bought an 8600gt 512mb with an acer bios for my 5520G shouldn't be a problem to just to replace the 8400m gs with the 8600m gt and that's it?

no need to flash the card at all?

just put it in where the 8400m gs was?

If you are talking about the one with the 7000m then definitely no.

Hi, found this thread with Google.

Yesterday I got my MSI GX700 back from the service department of MSI.

When booting the MSI i got the same error message. After 30 seconds the laptop booted into windows without a problem.

As far as i can see my defected 8600M GT has been replaced by an 9600M GT :)

But how to get rid of this error message ?

ERROR: MXM Structure not found or invalid.

Reflash MXM ROM or add MSM Structure and associated callbacks to SBIOS!

POST will be halted for 30 seconds and performance will be limited to

balanced performance mode untill this is resolved ...

i have not tried it but i think he did it this way

1. download hp boot key and create a bootable usb

2. download nvflash

3. download 8600M GT bios

4. extract nvflash to root drive of flash drive, copy also the bios in the root drive

5. restart pc and in bios set flash drive as boot drive (F12 key usually)

6. on command prompt type "nvflash -b backup.rom', now you have a backup bios file named backup.rom

7. on command prompt type "nvflash Acer.8600MGT.512.070423.bin -4 -5 -6", wait for it dont touch nothin till it finishes up

good luck

*

nvflash -p -u -f backup.rom'

-4 = bypass board id mismatch (I think)

-5 = bypass device id mismatch

-6 = bypass subsystem id mismatch

I DO ALL LIKE THAT ,AND ONLY THING I GET IS >

DISK EROR ,PRES ANY KEY...

PLEASE HELP!
