Guest ME
Hey guys I just got the XPS 1730 with the sli Go 8700M GS. I want to know if this driver is better then the stock dell driver. I am seeing a HUGE lack of support for this machine. I went to the dell site and the drivers for this have not been updated in forever. So I just want to know 1. If this is a better driver ( I cant play hellgate with SLI on right now.... this makes me crazy with 2 Dx10 cards in Sli you think this would not be an issue. 2 if this driver will kill my machine if i trty it out... my buddy installed a beta driver so he could play GoW but it stopped his vid card fan from working sooo any help would be great I mean hellz i have this nice lappy and cant even play GoW, kind of confusing as to why there is no support. Thanks!

Thanks! Hey, I have an Dell Vostro. Dell don't update any driver, because the old ones don't make any problems for them. So they don't see an aspect for updating those. I wrote to Dell Support and they emailed me back right after. They linked me to this site here and said that I should download the drivers from this site. You can download these drivers, it won't break your guarantee. The only thing I want to know is, whether this driver supports Nvidia Powermizer for Notebooks. Otherwise the battary is very fast down. Just pick the one for the 8800M works fine for us people with a simple 8700M, and its newer too ... Ok Dell, just spend mucho euros on a laptop, and now you bring one out with a better video card :) Hey guys I just got the XPS 1730 with the sli Go 8700M GS. Guest Blackjackk
I cant install this driver with the setup.exe in the driver file without the modded inf. I have myself 2 8700M GTs SLI and it mentions those cards in the original inf file so Im not sure what the deal is there. However, I did succeed in installing this driver by using the Have-Disk method for windows vista without a modded inf but saw no increase in performance. I then noticed that the original inf has 4 different 8700M GT listings. Does it matter which ones I choose in the Have-Disk method? cause I chose the same ones for each card which is the first one displayed.
