Problem with nVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS

I, sorry for my english but i'm italian :-)

my notebook acer aspiter 5920g have nVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS, with 256mb dedicated, 768 shared, up to 1024mb!!!

now, in my notebook i have installed windows vista home premium with this video driver (v169.28 Vista 32bit with INF file) http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=16679

in vista system pannel i look corret video options: with 256mb dedicated, 768 shared, up to 1024mb

afther i install windows xp pro sp2 and i have installed this video driver (v169.28 XP 32bit with INF file) http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=16682

but in xp system pannel i look only options: total memory 512mb

in xp i have installed everest, for monitor my nvidia, and i look: 256mb dedicater (turbocache 512mb)

i tried install other versions (v169.25 and v171.16) but i have same problem....

why???

Sorry i can't really help you with this, but just want to let you know that lots of people seem to be having problems with their gpu's after downgrading from vista. Do you notice any lag in games when playing in xp compared to vista? If you don't then maybe the control panel just displays 512mb total memory, but in reality you have 1024mb of total memory.
