Just a question about modifying original vendor drivers

Is it possible for anyone here to look at my vendors inf file and tell me WHY SLI doesn't show up in the Nvidia Control Panel? None of the drivers have the "Enable SLI" after install. (XP 32bit, Vista 32 and 64 bit). I looked at the inf file and it say enable SLI but, when I install the driver it's not there.

I tried to download GPU-Z all versions and it doesn't work!!

I used the 156.80 driver and inf file from laptopvideo2go and it works great.

I tried all the vendors drivers for all the OS's listed above.

Currently running

XP 32bit

2 Geforce 8700M GT's in SLI

SLI can depend on IF the drivers passed out from either Nvidia or the vendor contain support for SLI across the n100 PCIe-to-PCIe bridge chip used on various non-nForce motherboards. We normally recommend the latest driver from Nvidia after the 169.xx series to use for SLI because most of these have SLI enabled on these chips.

We also recommend if you can't find a suitable driver to PLEASE stick with your vendor's drivers and use their support forums and help desk to ask for newer drivers.

From your attached file:

NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0409.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT"

%NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0409.1% = nv_G8x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0409&SUBSYS_09021558

I forgot to mention that this is a laptop and I have contacted the vendor regarding this problem and all they say is "Ship it to us and we will take a look".

I don't remember which driver I used from LV2G, but it is working in SLI now.

I just wanted to get the vendor drivers working.

I appreciate all the replies.
