LTDAN
Hello, im new to the forums, but a 15 year PC user, and very familiar with all OS's, Video cards, laptops, etc... But this issue has me absolutely stumped. If im in XP, everything seems as if its running in slow motion while gaming. I get 70fps, but its like its running at 1/3 of the normal speed. The OS is fine, and all drivers are installed properly, and i was using the 169.09 drivers with modded .inf, and it all went downhill from there. Ive tried 5 different revisions of the laptopvideo2go driver, but nothing is fixing this issue. I cant get a manufacturer driver, due to Everex only making drivers for vista. The previous laptop (XT5000T, mines a XT5300T) has the same motherboard, and everything, but the only difference is CPU and GPU. Could anyone help shine some light on this for me? Guest Guest
That's likely caused by the dynamic processor frequency, combined with broken games that use cycle performance counters (or broken drivers that use them for the performance queries). Try plugging it in to AC power and selecting a power plan that always uses full frequency. I can't recall which ones did, but "always on" and "desktop computer" (???) are likely. LTDAN
I'll try that out tonight and let you know how it goes. I appreciate the response.
LTDAN
Well, it looks like your correct, but I cant find an app or utility that alleviates the issue. I installed all manufacture software, and set XP to max power, but CPU-Z only reports it at half speed. Any suggestions? I remember one app that set it to max clock, but after 30 minutes of google-ing i still couldn't find it...
zipykido
I'll try that out tonight and let you know how it goes. I appreciate the response. I recently installed xp on my xt5300 too I it underclocks the cpu unless you install silentrun and powermanager which can be found on the driver website for the xt5000. Right now I'm having a lot of trouble with my drivers though because explorer.exe doesn't load properly when I boot my system after I installed the video drivers. Did you get that problem at all?
