NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800

For the past few months, I've been having an issue where my laptop will completely shut off while playing FFXI, in addition to already getting terrible FPS.

I'm on an Alienware Area51m notebook with 1gb of ram, Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 video card.

It's obviously driver related, but I can't find a driver that fixes this problem. It happens around graphicy areas and no warning is given that I'm about to crash. No blue screen or anything, completely off. Is there a particular driver that I should try or some kind of troubleshooting that I could do to find a solution?

which os are you using? also what controll setting are you using for the graphics (ie bump mapping on etc)

also if you are running in fullscreen that could be your issue. since ffxi likes to be the only top window it will crash for the smallest things. if someone messages you (aim or msn) or antivirus does something the game will crash or loose its focus which forces it to crash.
