®®®
Microsoft has updated the DirectX Redistributable release. The last update was in November 2007. You can download the 70 MB March 2008 release for all OS from the MS download center over HERE. The webinstaller (300 KB) can be downloaded HERE. It only downloads the needed parts you need to update your system.
cheshbench
why doesnt the windows update control panel program mention this?
®®®
Because it's a 70MB redistributable file and Microsoft obviously doesn't want millions of people unneccesarily download the complete package. It includes all updates for DX 9.0c since the initial release of DirectX 9.0c for XP's Service Pack 2 in August 2004.
whitetigerx7
Most of these files are actually the d3dx9_XX.dll files used for managed directx and specific revision builds for various developers and distributions.
RangerXML
Do a search, I posted the DX update tool up some where before on here. Right now I don't have it off hand. Do a search on MS, its a small file that downloads and installs the latest updates, handy. The distro packs are standalones that don't require a internet connection, great for back ups. uncajesse
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...6a-9b6652cd92a3 dx 9.0c end-user web installer for march 2008 dx sdk compatibility... it only downloads the files you need to be current... why Microsoft doesn't provide this particular method on Windows Update is a little lame imo too, but... Microsoft has always encouraged the application developers to include redistributables themselves. unfortunately. :) you would think they could get a clue from Linux.
