mobilenvidia
There doesn't seem to be a place for these so I decided to host them here. Here you'll find a collection of firmware for the MVIX MX780 and MX760 Media Players. I downloaded and tried the methed you described below but it doesnt work. 780 keeps on saying connecting, then then failed and it shuts down. My question is, do i have to set my computer with a specific IP so that 780 recognizes it? Please give me full info. Thanks
Guest Guest
Hi, Thanks for putting all firmware in one place. Ok i have a problem, power went down when i was upgrading the firmware so my 780 is dead now. I tried that emergency firmware method but it doesnt work, 780 keeps on saying connecting and then failed. I trried settting different IPs on my machine but nothing seems to work. Is there any specific IP to use so that 780 will recognize my PC and download the file? How about i put that emergency file on my USB drive? will it work then? This is an excellent response to my original query, thanks very much. I will work through the process and upgrade to a 760, and I may come back to you for further guidance. Guest Simon
Hi, I have just gotten a 780HD, and put on the modded firmware, however whenever I try to ftp files I get a '553 Can't open that file: Read-only file system', if I telnet in and try to copy one of the existing files I get the same error message. I have tried both FAT32 and ext2 and get the same with both. Plugging in through USB works fine, and NDAS works (even if it is a bit twitchy, and very slow) too. Does anyone have any suggestions of what might be wrong? Cheers Simon
Guest Simon
OK, after some more reading it looks like the mvix is mounting the FS read only by default, if I umount and mount manually all is good, and I can ftp no worries. Any suggestions on why it is mounting read only? Simon
Demonen
I've been researching this as well, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the mvix where I can make permanent changes. I guess I'll have to do it manually until the firmware author changes it's behavior. Still, it's awesome software, works great on my 780! Guest Simon
Yeah, the FTP is much more stable than the NDAS, and now that I know I have to unmount and remount the drive all is good.
