Fixes/changes:

+ re-enabled Luxpad (MediaTouch) configuration

+ re-enabled red glow on record button (for 5920G)

+ retained Acer MediaTouch tab

+ added Chiralmotion and Momentum gestures

Installation:

1. Uninstall all current Synaptics drivers.

2. Restart

3. Install the modded driver.

4. Select "Install this anyway" when asked

5. Restart again

6. Make sure that under Device Manager, Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad shows version "10.2.4"

Tested on:

Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Acer Aspire 5920G

CAUTION:

Due to the nature of modded drivers, the driver will no longer be signed. I'm not sure how this will affect those with Vista 64-bit besides having to disable driver signing verification.

UPDATES:

2008-06-11: Rebuilt v10.2.4 with new gestures (derived from v11.1.1.1)

2008-04-02: Updated to the latest v10.2.4

2008-03-13: I've rebuilt the 64-bit version using the latest custom files I can get from Acer. Do try it out and let me know if it works :)

Known issue(s):

Illumination settings not saved after reboot (occurs in unmodded driver too)

Guest Zefiris

Hi!

I have an empty tap where the original Acer MediaTouch Settings used to be, with just a button saying "DS_DEFAULTS". Drivers are installed on a clean Vista Business 64bit.

The modded LuxPad settings and Touchpad settings work fine. Btw. how do I control the rec-light. I can assign any event to the rec-button like to the other buttons but I can't switch off the red light.

@Zefiris

Hi, may I know which laptop model are you using the drivers with?

@Shamtu

As you can see, this modding is only tested on 5920G and Vista, so I can't extend it to XP until I sort out the Vista issues first

Same problem as Zefiris. I have 5920G with vista ultimate 64-bit.

I've created a new topic and it's pending verification from the moderator before it can be published. Please close this topic as I have updated the install procedure and made a new build for Vista 64-bit.

I've merged it into this one, so it's only this topic now.

Also, I've added new 64 version as a mirror.

Probably not only me, but i would love to see a "screen"shot of the illuminated LuxPad and from the Control Panel.

Don't have high expectations, it's just bunch of blue-led illuminated shortcut keys, much like the ones near the power button of our 5x0x :)

Yup that's true. Screenshots are added above :)

Hi!

Thx, the new build works now on my x64-system, but I still can't figure out how to control the rec-light!

Zefiris

Do the config pages (see last 2 screenshots above) appear for you? That's how the rec-light is controlled on my Vista 32-bit.

Hi!

The LED works for me too, but, as the whole v. 10.* series, the driver itself sucks, because he doesnt interprete EVERY keystroke I do.

For example: if I pressed the play/pause button twice (or 4 times) per second, the v. 9.* drivers got all those keystrokes and actually forwarded them to foobar (global hotkeys).

Now it just works randomly, I keep pressing pause without anything happening, then suddenly it works, then not... I dont know why, I tried every sensitivity setting imaginable, and the device itself lights up for a few sec when I press the button, so its definately the driver.

Any ideas?

Ill revert back to 9. for now :)

(windows XP sp3)

This is fantastic! This appears to be the only driver that works with no issues on my Acer 5920g, vista ultimate 64 bit!

Regards,

Mike
