jacobkorf
Nice increase of performance, from 3.5 to 3.7 with aero, and 4.5 to 4.7. The only thing is, I still can't OC since 169.04 :) This driver rocks!! :) Greetz Jacob
Dox
yes they are preety good :) 3d mark 06: 8940 :) I reccomend anyone on 169/167 series to jump to the 174.xx series. they are very good and get updated more often. NV cp also adds more widescreen resolutions such as 1400x900 and 1680x1050, something that has been missing in 167/169. i reccomend you all move to 174.16 or higher

WetSawdustDemon
Hmm that's odd, Here's a list of the drivers I've tried and the idle running temps. The gaming performance is pretty much the same with all the drivers to be honest so all I am bothered about is the temps. 167.45 52C (From Dell) 167.62 60C 173.65 59C 173.80 58C 174.20 63C 174.31 65C (From Dell, but bus speeds stay fixed at 575/600 and do not lower!) 176.60 58C (bus speeds change from low to high, but still runs hotter than 167.45) So I am left wondering why Dell would put out a driver than runs 13C hotter when idle than their the one before? Also does PowerMizer working or not have anything to do with running with a flashed video bios? I might try flashing back to stock bios and see if that makes any difference. WetSawdustDemon
Okay 176.60 gives me repeated crashes in Bioshock. I will flash back to standard video bios to see if it has any impact. Otherwise it's back to Dell's 167.45 for me, that driver never gave me any problems and runs at much lower temps.
Dox
yah, i hav the same problem. BSOD if i play cod4 for like an hour or so. im now using 174.70 but not yet had a good gaming sestion with them, so im not too sure if it will BSOD like this driver. How much do I need to worry about the temp increase when moving to the 17X.XX series? I don't overclock or anything.

RangerXML
I've been having issues with the 17x.xx drivers as well, driver failures and the sort.
ByronGman
its a good driver, performance boost etc, temps are good but its BSOD on me after extended play :) I'm getting BSOD'd on start-up still after upgrading to these drivers, but not as bad as before when I had 169.44 (at least not as bad up to this point). I'm wondering if the problem is with the graphics drivers, though. I'm wondering if it might not be some of my other software not playing nice with SP1... I'll try and test some more and see if I can figure out what exactly is going on... Last night I took these drivers out for about 2 hours of World in Conflict, Crysis, and Call of Duty with no crashes, most of my issues are at start-up. Good to know about the temps though... I think these actually run cooler than 169.44 was for me.
Pawel
Had some strange issues trying to install these, but eventually it got through, and the performance benefit seems worth it. Crysis definitely seems to feel like the frame-rate is more consistent. So, overall, these drivers are highly recommended over 169.44! just be prepared for a System Restore if it all goes pear shaped, and make sure you fully uninstall the previous driver before trying these. Crap Cleaner helps to remove any registry entries left over. P. Edited March 25, 2008 by Pawel
WetSawdustDemon
Hmm well reflashing my video bios back to stock means I can now overclock these drivers with ntune which is nice. However the clocks still won't go lower than 200/300 and hence run at higher temps. Gonna try 174.31 again to see if there's any effect there. Otherwise it's back to good old Dell 167.45 (not sure why I keep trying new drivers, I should just stick with those!)
Guest Ryan
This driver runs Oblivion better than anything I've tried yet, as far as stuttering and glitches are concerned. Much smoother. I haven't had any driver crashes in-game yet. Once as I closed the game, the system tray had a yellow exclamation saying there was an error though. Also this driver also got rid of an issue I had with a line showing on the taskbar near the tray using 174.31.
