kanenas
Hello. Could somebody please tell me if I have a setup problem or the functionality has been removed lately? I'm under XP SP2 with DirectX Runtimes of March 2008. The card is an old Asus V9980 Ultra (GeForce FX 5950 Ultra) running Forceware X 169.61 (with the modified INF). I've come across a problem with Media Player Classic (on my desktop) being unable to display the video of an AVI (just sound). Trying to resolve it, I found out that MPC has the problem when I tell it to run in Overlay mode. When I set it up to run in VMR9 Renderless, it works fine. I looked for the Overlay setting in the Nvidia Control Panel but it doesn't seem to be there anymore. Any idea what happened to it and how to restore it? I've read somewhere that the overlay capability has been removed in DirectX for Vista but I don't know if this applies to the latest XP version too. Thanks in advance. LSudlow
This thread may help you: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=9211 Replace the lines in Pieter's inf with the revised ones and reinstall. They should work even without the overlay page in the nvidia control panel.
