samureye
Hey everyone, I'm trying to get Scarface up and running with no luck. I am pretty sure I can run the game but it's the drivers acting up. Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.20GHz 2 GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT I just know some months ago I managed to update the drivers somehow to be able to play Bioshock. I remember I messed it up the first try and didn't want ever do it again, but now I am going to pretend to be brave and try updating whatever it is needs changing to try getting Scarface to work, but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone help? Please don't hurt me, I know it must hurt since there are likely a lot of threads like this. I'm making my way around the forums, but really can't find anything to make me not post a thread directly. Again, please don't hurt.
anonymous1986
I'm not sure of a driver that's great for scarface but the driver 169.44 works best for me. The Dell released driver 174.31 and the rest of the 174 series causes frequent crashes when i'm playing ut3, pes 2008. The 169 series although it gives slightly worse performance seems the most stable. Download the 169.44 driver from the community forum along with the mod inf. Extract the driver to a specified folder and replace the inf in that folder with the one you downloaded from here (mod inf). The uninstall ur driver from control panel, restart install new driver and you should be good to go. You could create a system restore point if ur scared of messing something up. Ok, 169.44 Vista us what I will try. ( http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=17790 ) Is there a tutorial on how to get all this done? No clue on how to do this, forgot how I did it last time. How do I check which version I am running now? Because I know I changed it to play Bioshock, which worked, and I am pissed I'll have to change for Scarface and then probably have to change back if I want to play Bioshock, which I never completed. Ok Installed 169.44 and this was the result. This is actually showing a few more things than it was before, so it's a slight improvement, although still useless. Can anyone else please advise? anonymous1986
Try 174.74, however this gave me problems with ut3 (frequent crashes). Edited April 24, 2008 by anonymous1986
