BobJ Posted May 4, 2008 Report Share Posted May 4, 2008 I still can't tell if powermizer is working at all for me, but I do know my lappy gets hotter on battery than plugged - maybe it's working backwards? can someone walk me through a test? wook Posted May 4, 2008 Report Share Posted May 4, 2008 powerMizer does not only work when the laptop is running on battery, it also kicks in when 3d performance is not needed... ie. windows desktop functions. Are you using rivatuner? as you can get a graph and monitor the hardware. See what speed the core and memory are running at while at desktop and when playing a game or tests like 3DMark'06. My GPU runs 2D at: Core-182 Mem-100 then in 3d performance mode it runs at: Core-554 Mem-854. Obviously the change in speed will save power... hope this answers your questions.
