rutdiger Posted May 23, 2008 Report Share Posted May 23, 2008 I am wondering if anyone knows or has tried to run GeForce8600M GS 512MB GDDR2 in an Alienware M5700(same as Amilo M3438). The cards are MXM-II and come in ACER ASPIRE 4520G/4720G/5520G/4710G TravelMate 5710G/5720G etc. laptops. I wondering if the laptop would handle the voltage requirements and heat generated? wook Posted May 23, 2008 Report Share Posted May 23, 2008 (edited) I'd opt for the DDR3 and the GT not the GS although overclocking would make it a GT my 8600GT DDR3 runs at 81-83 0c @ max (overclocked) and it seems fine. so high temps are ok but i have an XPS.. and they tend to run high Edited May 23, 2008 by wook Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
