the_duality
I am using 174.74 now with no issues. What range of drivers are causing this problem?
Guest Yety
I guess I fixed the problem. Downloaded a driver from stationdrivers and now its working fine! I'm using the 175.61 drivers for my 8600m gs. Here's the link: http://www.station-drivers.com/page/nvidia...eforce%20go.htm I guess there seems to be an issue with Pieter's Infs that is causing the trouble. klemkas
well i wrote in another thread and ill write it again, i did a little research, and it appears that gpu isn't downclocking, it's the cpu!
Nitroin
I'm experiencing the same problem here. With the "official" notebook driver by nVIDIA (ForceWare 179.48). The PowerMizer Switch workaround (or editing the registry) doesn't work properly for me. When gaming (expecially with pretty new game) I'm experiencing random game freeze and sometimes the driver crashes. For example problems come with Mirror's Edge or Burnout Paradise (expecially the first - due to the grapical engine?). Instead with Call Of Duty 4 no problem comes...also when long multiplayer session occur. Edited February 13, 2009 by Nitroin

Same here, what drivers are you using? I'm using 179.28 from nvidia's website, I should be able to try the new 179.48 driver soon.

Guest Guest
I'm already using the newest driver by nVIDIA for notebook (179.48). No change, same problem. That sucks. It only happens to me though when I overclock my GPU (even by just 5 mhz). Hell, even underclocking it causes problems but at stock clocks, everything is fine. Today, for example, the card was clocked at his stocks speeds, 513/1026/400 for core/shader/memory respectively. While playing with Mirror's Edge the game freeze after a random period of time and the card underclock itself. With COD4 no problem at all, even with the card clock'ed to 576/1296/432. Even if I stress the GPU with Furmark no problem occur. Strange... Sorry for my bad english, I hope is understandable
Korso
Using forceware 179.48, rivatuner and rightmark cpu utility to downclock the CPU (on a Compal FL90, 8600M GT, Vista64). No downclocking yet. Also using a Tacens Ferio to cool the laptop a little. Hope it helps someone :) Edited April 4, 2009 by Korso
