Hallo

I want to buy a MSI GX700, but I don't really like the 8600 GT (512+768). Can I upgrade it to a 8700 GT or 8800 GTS?

A 9650 GS would also be nice...

What I want to say: What MXM standard is it. In the Notebook table is just a ?

Thx for all answers

LoD

I would also like to know,i read somewhere on a french website that it supports at least mxm III though that information is not 100% accurate but it's very likely since it's a 17" notebook. I also have one though i can't open it yet, I still have warranty. Here's the address http://portables4gamers.wordpress.com/test...si-gx700-page3/ . Hope someone manages to confirm exactly the type of mxm this notebook has.

Here is good news for you and me. I have a MSI GX710 Titanium Edition (MEGA BOOK).

The GX7xx series supports up to MXM III, but an MXM III card was not included because it boosted the price of the laptop too high, that they were afraid it wouldn't sell.

Side note: msi gx700 = lg r700 and same from a few more re brander.

And would like to know the answer too :) since most likely all of these m8600gt will die since nvidia material fault .. :)

So in a year or 2 will have to change it anyway out of warranty and why not upgade it then same time.

I read on a website though, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=189393 ,that it has a mxm II slot though it's not accurate yet and I find it hard to believe since it's a big 17" notebook and most 17" ones have at least mxm III slot but it's impossible to determine exactly unless someone opens his notebook and examines it.
