Guest TORR
My GeForce Go 6600 video card recently burned out, so I sent it to the shop to have them replace it with another one. I've gotten it back and now whenever the cooling fan kicks into high gear when I'm playing a game, the game slows down. This didn't used to happen, especially on older games like Diablo II. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Also, where can I find updated drivers for my GeForce Go 6600? Nvidia doesn't have them and third party drivrs won't install. wook
Sounds like a heat issue. Is it over clocked? 1) Make sure there is good clearance between laptop and surface. 2) Try a different driver. Have a Community search for 6600 and see what pops up. should give you some idea of driver versions to use. 3) Down clock it.. But!! It should be under their warrantee, be polite and ask tell them the issue. They have an obligation to fix it Edited June 17, 2008 by wook
