Hi all!

With the 175.80 there comes original_inf's too, which as i got are OEM inf's refering to this topic: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=918

So, if i have MSI Notebook with NVidia GeForce 8600M GT, can i use the Original inf file from the archive in LV2Go in original_inf(s).zip ??

As i understand, i just need to remove the original "nv4_disp.inf" and copy there the "nvmi.inf" from the archive?! Will it really work as it should be?!

Thanx for your answers.

that is correct.

but please make sure the original inf supports your card by opening the file and checking if your graphics card is listed.

It's listed several times in there. How can i get which one is designated for my card?!

NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.1  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT"
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.2  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT "
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.3  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT  "
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.4  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT   "
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.5  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT	"
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.6  = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT	 "

And i found some differences in code between the modded_inf and original_inf:

original_OEM_inf:

[nv_G8x]

CopyFiles = nv4.Miniport, nv.Display, nv4.icd, nv.Panel, nv.Help

DelFiles = nv.oldrm, nv.delete.systemfiles

RegisterDLLs = nv.RegisterCPL

[nv_G8x.CoInstallers]

CopyFiles = nv.CoInstaller

AddReg = nv_CoInstaller_AddReg

AddReg = nv_CoInstaller_NVAppsXML_AddReg

[nv_G8x.SoftwareSettings]

AddReg = nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings_G8x

AddReg = AdaptClkDis_AddReg

AddReg = nv4_icdSoftwareSettings

AddReg = nv_ControlPanelSettings

DelReg = nv_ClearRegistrySwitches

[nv_G8x.Services]

AddService = nv, 0x00000002, nv4_Generic_Service_Inst, nv4_EventLog_Inst

AddService = NVSvc, 0x00000000, nv_NVSVC_Inst

DelService = nvarch

DelService = nvgfx

[nv_G8x.GeneralConfigData]

MaximumDeviceMemoryConfiguration = 80

MaximumNumberOfDevices = 2

modified_inf:

[mobile_nv4_NV3x]

CopyFiles = nv4.Miniport, nv.Display, nv4.icd, nv.Panel, nv.Help, nv.nViewPanel, nv.nViewHelp

DelFiles = nv.oldrm, nv.delete.systemfiles

RegisterDLLs = nv.RegisterCPL

[mobile_nv4_NV3x.CoInstallers]

CopyFiles = nv.CoInstaller

AddReg = nv_CoInstaller_AddReg

AddReg = nv_CoInstaller_NVAppsXML_AddReg

[mobile_nv4_NV3x.SoftwareSettings]

AddReg = nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings

AddReg = Common_Tweaks

AddReg = nv4_icdSoftwareSettings

AddReg = nv_ControlPanelSettings

AddReg = Mobile_Tweaks

AddReg = MapOSD3ToNV_3

AddReg = Default16BPP_AddReg

DelReg = nv_ClearRegistrySwitches

[mobile_nv4_NV3x.Services]

AddService = nv, 0x00000002, nv4_Generic_Service_Inst, nv4_EventLog_Inst

AddService = NVSvc, 0x00000000, nv_NVSVC_Inst

DelService = nvarch

DelService = nvgfx

[mobile_nv4_NV3x.GeneralConfigData]

MaximumDeviceMemoryConfiguration = 80

MaximumNumberOfDevices = 4

So there are no such parametrs in OEM inf files. Do they really needed?!

The "tweaks" lines are ours. The other lines are present in many infs. There are many customizations that solve problems or enhance performance. We want to make our infs as widely compatible as possible, so we include them.
