Roseweave
I just got Assassin's creed and given how my GPU benchmarks it's running a little slowly(on lowish settings of course). First off I find the native resolution a bit too sharp. I know most eople might find 768 a bit high, but I'd rather be running in 600. It would look better to me and the scaling would smooth out the picture, as well as giving me slighlty better performance. I'm wondering how to get access to extra resolutions. Which drivers should I download from here? What other tips should I use? I don't seem to have the Powermizer software either. Frustrating. Also would it be worth overclocking? Dox
driver i recommend now is 175.16 using the modded inf (by me atleast) 175.19 is newer but the modded inf is not up so you wont be able to install on your card. 174.xx drivers and up allow you to create custom resolution that are missing for you. vista doesnt have powermizer software like XP. Its built into the OS itself. if you want a guaranteed powermizer software in XP, install with the modded inf. read the FAQ if you have no idead what i am on about: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/2-frequently-asked-questions
Roseweave
It's built into the OS itself? But I can't see any options to control the power to the GPU like I used to.
Roseweave
I can't find any drivers later than 2007 in the downloads...
Michael Marley
You have to look in the forum section, here. For some reason, all of the listed downloads are out of date. Hopefully they will begin to be updated again soon. Also, you can still regulate the PowerMizer settings, just now you must do it in the driver INF or the system registry instead of the NV control panel. If you would like to do something with PowerMizer, just tell me what and I will tell you how to do it.
Roseweave
Well I want to make sure it's at full when my laptop is plugged in and very low when I'm on battery(I don't do 3D gaming on the go). I'm unsure but it may be clocking down during certain games. I've heard of Vista doing this. How do I measure this?
aliveanddead86
Download GPU-Z and when you think its downclocked, check the sensors tab, see if it actually has.. or use Nvidia Monitor, and set that to log data, and log the clocks. Then it shows the exact temperature it downclocks at as well.
Roseweave
Okay, 175.16 did not work. What support the 9500MGS? I tried installing it using te Have Disk method, and it just told me it couldn't find any drivers for my current hardware. Michael Marley
Are you sure you used the modded INF? All Nvidia cards are supported by Pieter's INF.
