Guest Baris
Well as the title says im playing with a GeForce Go 7400 512Mb. Now when I installed AoC for the first time, it warned me that I should update my graphic drivers. So I went looking for new drivers, and found out that Nvidea nor HP were giving more recent drivers as the one I already had. So then I found this site and installed the 174.93 drivers. And it all seemed to be fine. but still the game keeps crashing on me. The screen freezes and the sound goes on. Well after 5 minutes spamming ctrl, alt, delete I see that the game isnt responding and I shut it down. Well this allows me to stay in game for about 5 minutes every time. Now i think I installed the wrong drivers, so If anyone could hlp me on this matter, that would be great. Cuz I have no idea what drivers would be the correct ones the install on my machine. Im playing a HP pavilion dv5190ae: System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard System Model: HP Pavilion dv5000 (EW787EA#ABH) BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL Processor: Genuine IntelĀ® CPU T2400 @ 1.83GHz (2 CPUs) Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 431MB used, 2995MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode --------------- Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip type: GeForce Go 7400 DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01D8&SUBSYS_30A5103C&REV_A1 Display Memory: 512.0 MB Current Mode: 1280 x 800 (32 bit) (60Hz) Monitor: Standaardbeeldscherm Monitor Max Res: Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0011.7493 (English) DDI Version: 9 (or higher) Driver Attributes: Final Retail Driver Date/Size: 4/13/2008 15:20:00, 5980928 bytes Yours, Baris
Michael Marley
When the game locks up, does your system lock up to the point where you must use the power switch to turn it off as well?
Guest Baris
Well at first it looks like the entire system crashes. But after some minutes I can finally get to windows. I think it take so long for it to shut down cuz the game is just so huge. So no, its just the game that locks up.
Michael Marley
Have you made sure AoC is up-to-date with any patches that may have been released for it? Also, if you have not, you should apply this DirectX update.
Guest Baris
Yea AoC always checks for patches etc. when you launch the game so thats not the prob, I also installed that version of directx some days ago, but still the same problem occurs. Now I really think its because I installed the wrong drivers from this site. I just installed the most recent I saw, not knowing if those were compatible with my videocard. So basicly what i need to know is, what driver package from this site i should install.
Michael Marley
The latest drivers are still compatible with the 7x00 series. Try the 177.xx series.
