i have successfully upgrade my acer 4520g video card 8400m G -> 8600m GS. everything was working great but when i tried the tv-out, it was no longer working except for the s-video. The s-video to composite, and 7-pin -video to component no longer works. the 7-pin s-vid, when connected to the component becomes pinkish violet and the nvidia control panel detects it only as s-video only. for the s-vid to RCA, only a black screen appears and can't detect any signal. :)

but when i put back my old video card 8400n G, everythings works fine. :)

pls help

thanks

I tried the 169.xx to 174.74 to 177.35 to 174.41

i use the driver sweeper every time i uninstall and install the drivers

nope. i'm not OCing my card. i can't OC my card after 169.04

vga out is working fine. only the tv-out

every driver i tried installed normally. no error whatsoever

i guessing that the pin allocation on the 8400m and 8600m are not the same

:)

might aswell stick with 8400m then, BTW how much did you pay for the 8600m?

That seems to me to be either a driver problem or a compatibility issue. Unless you try more drivers you can't really be sure.

in ebay. got the link from the other forum. you can search it as mxm video adaptor

the 8600m GS is $150

the 8600m GT is $200

its a bit more expensive but your much sure

the seller is trying to help me right now

its for acer bios not asus.

why are you trying to downgrade your card?

your card has a much better rating and speed

i use my laptop for games and portable theater system. HDMI is not commonly available. s-vid, composite and components are much common. only 5 star hotel provides HDTV
