tsunami2265
im really very disappointed with the low fps im getting in bioshock.i have 1 gb ram, go 7400 128mb and 2ghz intel centrino processor and 175.16 drivers, i can run my other games perfectly well including all the ue3 games i have but it seems bioshock gives me very low fps even in all low details where it should not give, like if im standing near a corner and facing it then too i get no more than 10 fps imagine how much i would get on big environments. :)

Firstly, what I would do to increase performamce is install a new driver. Depending on the OS, I would suggest that you select minimal settings for ur desktop as this CAN increase the performamce but is not always guaranteed. i would not consider overclocking as this can void the warranty of your card for a mere 2-3 increase in fps. Using the INF enhancer in this site for a particular driver would always be a good idea, emphasizing performace rather than quality. In addition, you may want to adjust ur laptops power options, setting the option to high performace, this can increase fps Good Luck! Guest shivendra123
i know my 7400 is not crap card, i can play graw on all med-hi details above 50 fps and i can play ut3 with hi shaders and med textures very smoothly, it seems i got some crap driver(175.16) cuz i also have medieval 2 tw and im getting amazingly low fps after i updated my driver, ill install the older driver and then report here. It depends on what your definition of crap is. Your card certainly isn't crap by most standards and as you have said it is possibly the drivers. But although your GPU is fairly good, it doesn't seem to be the bottleneck. Your RAM and processor aren't exactly marvellous and that is holding you back. Guest tsunami2265
lol nothing is holding me back, amazingly it is the drivers holding me back... after installing the older drivers and playing bioshock i have come to the solid conclusion that 175.16 is not at all made for the go 7400, its quite amazing for me that im playing the game at 800*600 all on hi details with shadows and hi detail shaders butter smooth, the newer drivers even had some graphical bug with bioshock, when i installed the new drivers and played i was not able to see a single thing, maps were too dark i thought they hav been made like that but after installing the older one everything is visible, no graphical glitches and no lag :)
Guest tsunami2265
i will recommend you all not to use 175.16, nvidia should be removing it just like it removed 175.19....
