kaisz
Hi, im kind of desperate I have a XPS m1530 with an 8600m GT 256mb ddr3 (like a lot op ppl on this forum). Sinds i bought this laptop i have always updated with the nvidia drivers on dell's site. But Counterstrike 1.6 (a game that is already more then 5 years old) dont work good for me! First i get 60 fps, after setting a lot of things OFF (including vsync) i finally get 100 fps. But this is totally not stable! After playing around 10 minutes it has horrible drops van 99 to 30 fps.....this is really annoying because this card should be handle a old game like counterstrike with all the ease. Now i have tried so many driver on this forum (174,74 included) and cant seemte find 1 that makes my game stable... All i play is this old game! Does anyone have this same problem or am i just using the wrong drivers??? im using 32 bit vista btw. Thnx in advance. kaisz

Cain
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM . THIS IS BS! SUCH A OLD GAME AND I GET LIKE 100FPS WEN I LOOK AT THE FLOOR THEN WEN I GO INTO SHOOTIN ITS LIEK 60-80 -_- You don't visibly notice anything over 60 fps. Why is that bulls***? I recommend using the 175 series for best performance... I got better temperatures with the 169 series. The only reason why you want a "stable" high fps is so that when you are in the middle of a fire fight you don't drop to below 60 fps from 120 fps, it makes serious player performance issues. PS If you have a crappy laptop, it doesn't matter what driver you use.
