Michael Marley
You need to look in the files which are produced by the 7zip Self Extractor program.
tuntun
yes. I used 7zip self extract but no setup file inside. how to install? thanks
Michael Marley
There is an application called Setup.exe in the extracted files. Just run this to install the drivers.
Guest Hannes The Hun
The control panel still should be in \WDM\<your_os>\idtsg.cpl. It was when I packed it..... it is in the \Vista\ folder (32 and 64bit .cpl), but not in the \WinXP\ one I just checked by installing these on my XPS M1530 (32bit XP pro SP3) and encountered an error while installing, the Suhlp.exe (I guess it was called like this) did hang while installing the drivers. I forced a reboot and after rebooting, I could install the driver manually. the .cpl file didn't install, but the one from the WDM\Vista\ folder seems to be working. sound via the integrated speakers is working, will check HDMI later on although I don't think this will work. nice progress so far! Michael Marley
All of the supported laptops use the same configuration INI as the original driver, so I don't see why it wouldn't work, unless support has been removed for HDMI. Guest Hannes The Hun
just a quick note: did a clean reinstall of XP SP3 x86 (from MSDN) yesterday on my M1530, your newest drivers installed like a charm, just had to move the .cpl file manually to system32
Michael Marley
I am sorry about the control panel icon. In Windows XP x64 (which I run) it won't work even if you do copy the CPL file.

Guest Guest
Michael, I am having some problems getting this to work with the DELL Vostro 1400 even though the device ID and Vendor IDs are present in the inf files. VEN_8384 DEV_7616. The driver installs but the I get a prompt saying there is a problem with the hardware... Secondly the latest version available for the driver files is 6033 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Des...11〈=eng You seem to be using 5790 Thanks
Michael Marley
First, I am using an old driver because the new drivers use a drastically different system of writing the INIs for sound card hardware. I have neither the time nor the knowledge to rewrite the files for the old chips. Second, are you using XP or Vista?

Guest Guest
Yeah, it works on my Vostro 1500 with Vista Business 64Bit :) ! Only the Icon in Control Panel is missing but i can start it manually..., that's no problem. Just wanted to ask you, if it would be possible to add some features to the Control Panel of our Sound Card as seen here --> http://www.xps-forum.de/thread.php?threadid=1456 ? eugenius
Vista 32bit SP1 and XPS M1330 here ... I installed the IDT Driver from the first post hoping to gain an EQ to tame the bass as it's bloated and MAYBE an ASIO driver .... Result: The driver installed but I don't have any control panel, it's even worse than the Dell Driver as it's missing the Digital Microphone with noise filtering from Andrea Electronics completely, which is the nicest feature of the Dell Driver. Is there a special step you have to take for the M1330 under Vista?
Michael Marley
In order to run the control panel, just copy the file idtsg.cpl to your \windows\system32 folder. This will give you an equalizer, I believe. I am not sure about the Andrea Electronics noise filter, however. The files related to it are in the folder, and the driver will not install without them. I will have a look and see if I can fix anything.
k3nny
I was using some self-modified drivers since a Windows Update installed corrupted ones on my laptop. I tried everything, another driver version didn't want to install.. Your does though, its newer and it works. Thank you! :)
