alstanwick
Hey, I'm new to all this stuff, and was wondering if someone would be able to help me. I got a new notebook with vista about a month ago, and while playing games it goes black then says the display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding. I found a lot of discussion about this on other forums and was directed to this site for a driver update, and I've been reading though some threads on this forum but I have no idea what to download! I have an Asus X55S series notebook, running Vista 32bit, Duo T8300 CPU, 4GB RAM, nVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Israel Lopez
Does it happen with all the games? Or only with a certain game? If it is only with one game, which one does it? Also, is the computer running hot? Have you overclocked anything? If you want to get drivers, just go to the main page and look at the top. You have to download both the drivers for Vista x86/32bit and the INF enhancer.

No I'm not overclocking anything.
Michael Marley
It does sound like a heat problem. Have you checked your temps?
Israel Lopez
That happens to me on my desktop computer when I push my nvdia 8600 GTS to play crysis with very high settings. The game lasts a while and then I get the error. Maybe you are pushing games to demand too much from your 9500. Try to decrease the video settings and see if it keeps happening (however with GTA San Andreas.. your card should have no trouble, so I keep thinking it is either a driver or a heat issue)
alstanwick
Nah it's not a heat issue, it seems to be a common problem http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=25381
