Guest NeoPain Posted August 19, 2008 Report Share Posted August 19, 2008 Hi I'am pretty new in this kind of things, I searched on google and found this site for nvidia drivers I need this driver ForceWare X 174.93 for Windows XP/2K 32bit But every time I try to download this,I get an error. I would like it when someone could help me, and one more question I have a Sony Vaio FS315H with a Geforce Go 6400, is this the newest driver for it? and does someone have any clues if this driver is working properly thx for your help! best regards neopain Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
wook Posted August 19, 2008 Report Share Posted August 19, 2008 There are newer drivers, for example the 177 series, but it enables support for PhysX and OGL 3.0 which a 6000 series card can not/ or would struggle to do. I think 174.74 would be a better option for your card. It has better performance for 3D applications (games) which i assume you want it for. I stoped the installation, is this driver really for my system? Without this Files should I go on to install the Driver? Can you maybe make me a Mirror of the Original Driver from your Site here? thx I used Firefox 3.1, IE7 and Opera^^ ohh and FlashFXP, but it didnt worked, the mirror you provided did work. Actually I think maybe my germany IP is blocked from the Downloadserver,but when I see the tons of german users here, I think thats impossible xD thx dude for the help! wook Posted August 20, 2008 Report Share Posted August 20, 2008 ok... im still looking for an additional 'international' version as thats what we use here... but here is the actual link from nvidia http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_174.74.html ok no need. that worked for me, installed on my machine. It will try and install the driver when its unpacked. and will say can not detect any compatable driver. ignore that and copy the inf file you got from this site (174.74) to the folder you saved the driver to. then run setup and it will install. When you run the file, it will try and install. But will say can not find any compatable device. Copy the inf file you got from this site (174.74) to the folder you saved the driver to. NeoPain Posted August 20, 2008 Report Share Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) Sorry for the doublepost^^ s*** happens always to me^^ The same error I miss this bunch off dlls nvdispsr.dll I was able to download it! now it say nvgamesr.dll or so - I just noticed that I have a file named in the folder where I extraced the driver which is named nvGameS.dl_ could this be the file nvgamesr.dll? The same for nvdispS.dl_ - What should I do, why does my Laptop miss this Files? It happened to me once but after a few hours I was able to download the driver. So I guess the problem solves itself. The problem has also been mentioned before by one or two other people who had 'resolved' their problem just by waiting a few hours. It's a strange problem as some people are able to download the file as normal while others get this strange message (How did you end up here).
