Guest MupKoo
Is this working on cards like GeForce 8600M GS??
Andrew55
Try it and see. I don't have that card and therefore cannot say that it can or can't but it should.
Guest thomaskc
did anyone test this on the 8600gs? Im going to test a bit later, just wanna to know before i uninstall everything for the 456th time...
Thomaskc
Just great.. I tried.. but apperently there is a know BUG with ntune and vista x64.. which ends in a huge bluescreen of death because of a ntune dll :/ no hope there i guess

Andrew55
Never got this problem, what ntune version are you using?
Guest forged allaince
OK i uninstaled n tune and downlaoded a newer version now i dont get that error however i still cant get this to work i load the edited file and the gpu settings dont even change wtf am i doing wrong ntune version- 5.05.54.
Andrew55
Whatever is in the file should load, unless a bios block is causing this, then you will not be able to overclock unless you flash another (newer most likely) version of bios. also are you sure you loaded the right profile? Guest forged allaince
yes im sure ive been playing around trying to get it to work for a while now, and it cant be a bios block as i can still overclock with the 169.04 driver, everyone is having success except me. Guest fprged allaince
OMFG i tried to underclock it to see it that would work and it does.... only tihng is i cant get the clocks back to normal it only lets me adjust them downwards. 8600m gs vista 32 bit
Andrew55
load original profile (or restart) that should fix your problem. Try overclocking with rivatuner then.
Guest forged allaince
restarted set them to there defualt.... riva tuna doenst work either all well if anyone out there has overclocked the 8600m gs on newer drivers plz tell me how and what driver. peterq2
you must edit the memory speed also even by as little as 1MHz or it won't work.
Guest Forged allaince
i did. doesnt work at all.... lets me take the clock speeds down just not up
giga718
thanks :) works perfectly are the setting you put safe for me to put if i dont have a cooling pad?
Andrew55
Yes, those settings are safe. I would suggest 435/675 though. Edited September 17, 2008 by Andrew55
Mushu
What do you guys suggest for 7150M / 630M (if possible)? This thread from what it seems is about overclocking 7000M / 610M which is similar, but I think the 7150M has more power-saving features than the other. :) When I set the numbers and run nTune and load the profile, my screen turns black and the laptop restarts. :) Edited September 18, 2008 by Shaythong
peterq2
GPU Clock: 425 MHz at stock settings try 500MHz and then go up by 10MHz untill you see strange things on your screen then come down by 50MHz i try not to clock the memory speed if its shared graphics i just do it by 1MHz otherwise the method at the start won't work. Mushu
Okay I'll try that and I think you said "176.34" in your first post, but in the image it says 176.37. Is that a typo?
peterq2
Well spotted :) Yes it was a typo ( i was very tired ) and looking at the screen for too long makes your eyes go funny lol Reason for edit: is 4am and i had typos again :) Edited September 20, 2008 by peterq2
