I just got done reformatting, time to install CoD4 and see how this baby runs :)

And I still have that same problem..

My FPS drops to like 20.

That looks like gpu downclocking. To see how the problem originates, you need to get an idea of your gpu temps. Install ntune and use it while playing games to monitor your temps.

Alright.

EDIT:

How exactly do I monitor them?

And, my screen is cut off on Ntune for some reason.

Looks like this

As I said, this looks like GPU downclocking due to powermizer and I want to see this problem resolved once and for all, so lets hope this works: Try disabling powermizer using this guide (has many images):

Heh.. I still get it.. but alot less.

I did that plus I cleaned out my fans :)

They were real dusty hahaha.

Hmph, now I got a new problem...

It just randomly drops down to 5-10 FPS

and its just ugly, I dont know why, everythings

goin great and then BAM does that.

Try using atitool's temp monitor, as I think it could be high temps causing it. Do you have to restart your computer for games to run as normal?

Yeah, when I restart my computer, and open up a game it runs fine, I mean its been running fine ever since I cleaned my fans haha,

but then again I still kinda get the random 5-10 FPS and then my old problem on top of that Ill record my temps when I come back from school.

So without a restart your games don't run fine after the initial drop in fps?

They drop and then go back to normal..

I accidentally clicked Max Core on ATITools

and I had to reformat...

Sigh.

That was rather unlucky, when you have access to the temps again, please report them, thanks.

It can't be that your gpu doesn't have thermal sensors because i'm almost positive it does.
