Ibiza20v
First of all, thanks for such a good forum for those who love to tweak our nvidia´s. I recently decided to install a Windows XP 64bit for using CFD software in my Dell XPS 1210 notebook. All was fine till I decided to install the nvidia driver. I used the 177.92 version and after rebooting and windows logo, my screen start as if it was a smaller display. I can change the resolution of my screen every time I want but most of the right part of it will remain black and I can scroll to the rest of the screen with my mouse. Is there a way to modify the INF or any other way in order to solve this and the drivers to start working with the full extents of my notebook monitor? Thanks and sorry for my english! :) EDIT: I forgot to tell that when I use it with external monitors everything works fine. Just with the notebook display happens. Ibiza20v
Well, I read a lot about this and I would like someone to help me figure out how to solve this: How can I change with a modded INF the display recognition? I saw smth like changing to NATIVE, WIDESCREEN, 8bit.. and I´m a mechanical engineer so not a computer expert. I´m guessing... Please help :)
Dox
you should try and find official drivers from dell's site for your laptop. Sometimes you cant because laptops seller only support certain Operating system for example my laptop maker clevo only provide drivers for vista 32,xp 32 and vista 64. I'm assuming u have installed the driver from here with a modded inf and it is a win xp 64 driver. So lets modify the modded inf: 1) open it wit notepad 2) scroll down to [nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings] 3) Add HKR,, "DefaultSettings.BitsPerPel", %REG_DWORD%, 32 HKR,, "DefaultSettings.VRefresh", %REG_DWORD%, 60 HKR,, "DefaultSettings.XResolution", %REG_DWORD%, 1280 HKR,, "DefaultSettings.YResolution", %REG_DWORD%, 800 4)Delete HKR,, UseBestResolution, %REG_DWORD%, 1 5) save and reinstall driver with modded inf, also try driver 177.92 hope it works :)

I tried what you told me. After reboot my display starts with 1280 x 800 and 32bit but 1/8 of my monitor is still black and I have to scroll with my mouse to see the complete desktop. Is there a way to make 32bit Dell drivers to work in my XP 64? Or any configuration file I can copy? Thanks! PD: I will post a pic later of what I see.
