orthetic
Gateway FX P-172S 8800M GTS 512MB, Vista32, Installation not working with modified INF as of 09/26/08 7:50am. Nvidia installation finishes with message that "The System has not been modified. To continue this installation, please run it again at a later time." Eh? -- Thanks
andygb40
Another success stoy for me. I downloaded it from nVidia earlier, and modded the inf myself. No problems so far and as yet haven't had a single graphical annomoly gaming or surfing. Other than PhysX, there seems to be little or no difference between this and the 176.48's I was running. Time will tell I guess. :)
Guest Thomas
Everythings is working for my 9500m GS, Physx,CUDA,Powermizer,Control Panel all of those were working. :)
Dudeman
I have an ASUS G1S-A1 with the 8600M GT. I also got the message "The System has not been modified. Blah blah blah" when using the modified inf available for download. I did get it to install however by going back to the inf that came with the driver and added... [NVIDIA.Mfg] %NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.1% = nv_G8x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0407 [strings] %NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0407.1% = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT" This got it to install and games work fine but I am having crash problems with the PhysX demos. Linux_Fan
Some have reported significant increase in performance comparing to previous versions (175.19)... Single GPUs:- 3DMark Vantage (11 %); - Assassin's Creed DX 10 (11 %); - Bioshock DX10 (15 %); - Call of Duty 4 (15 %); - Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (8 %); 2-way SLI: - Bioshock DX10 (7%); - Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts DX10 (10%); - Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (12%); - World in Conflict DX10 (10%); Anyone can confirm that? What's with the problems on 8600M GT?
Guest Kum Zblj
On my gx700 with 8600m gt the games run with a litle more stutering than with the 177.98. I'll wait for the benchmark here for some more results: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=19567
Guest tom09
nice, warhead and clear sky are running better. didnt check the temps, and i dont care actally^^ but crysis warhead is still unplayable in the ice-levels, anyone who also experienced that?? :) yeah i got that too, what helped for me was to save game at that point, quit game then go back in and load it up. performance increased significatnly for me, with only minor stuttering during most intense action. methinks maybe a mem leak error? looking forwards to a patch lol, after an hour or so playing, my game also crashes out sometimes at checkpoints ¬_¬
Covert
Benchmarked here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=19567 Exact same score as 177.98! Games running better though :)
Kum Zblj
To all GX700 users, I recommend 177.98 cus' of the next event. With this driver, changing a brightness level to lower or higher level than default, then closing & opening the lid puts the brightness level back to default which causes unexpected shut down of the System Control Manager. Very annoying problem, which doesn't accour with 177.98. In my previous post (as guest) I mentioned a stuttering problem during gaming, which also doesn't accour with 177.98.
