greatbacon Posted September 29, 2008 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 Well, a couple of weeks ago my graphics card burned out on my laptop. Looking around online i found a 8600M GS MXM card, but when i installed it, my computer would only display in 800x600 resolution w/ 16-bit color. I installed new drivers, but it still didn't work, so i sent it back. I've done enough research to know that my computer is in fact a MXM compatible laptop, and that in theory most 8x class nVidia cards should work in it, but I'm not sure if that card was just a dud or what.
