I did download the last revision...I had a crash problem with GRAW2,which I did not have before, but no problems with other games.I think it was the nvidia GPU program....

I,m running Farcry 2 ....help :)

Experienced crashes in the following games:

- Dead Space (immediately upon taking control, freezes on blackscreen; requires reboot)

- Mass Effect (screen freezes, sound freeze, then CTD)

- Silent Hill Homecoming (crashes after loading, requires reboot)

- Quantom of Solace Demo (CTD as soon as you take control)

Looks like I'm rolling all the way back to XFastest drivers.

Wow this driver works great. Performance has increased substantially, the game runs better now than it does on XP, easily playable at max settings with 1920x1200 resolution. Thanks a lot!

Crashes my Dell Vostro 1500 (8600MGT) while not in FarCry 2. Also in FarCry when set to DirectX 10 there is serious mouse lag, had to revert to DirectX 9. WIll upgrade as soon as new drivers become available.

Has anyone noticed that the Windows Experience Index (Start -> Control Panel -> Classic View -> Performance Information and Tools) doesn't run with Vista x64 and v180.43?

On my computer, it fails silently after checking disk performance. When I check the Event Viewer (Start -> Control Panel -> Classic View -> Administative Tools -> Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application), I see the following two errors:

"A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (2756)"

followed immediately by:

"The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application"

Anyone else experience this? Could anyone else running v180.43 also try running Windows Experience Index and tell us what happens for you? Is this a case of nVidia outsmarting WEI?

I don't know why, but on my Alienware m9750, It forces me to go into SLI mode now. Far Cry 2 performs breat and I don't mind it, but when I tried playing Team Fortress 2 or any other source engine games, the frame rate drops sinifigantly with SLI on. I tried playing TF2 with the SLI Disabled, but every time I try, the whole computer will lock up once I enter a Server. I also tried playing Far Cry 2 without the SLI and it crashes the program. Its as if the driver disabled the no SLI option.

My Computer Specs

Alienware m9750

Vista 64 U

4 Gigs Ram

Dual Core 2.14

8700m GT 512 x2 SLI

This is a Vista64 driver. Apple make their own graphics drivers for Mac OS.

Sorry, I meant use then in Vista in BootCamp. Actually I have my answers since I installed them :)

Thanks,

Tex

I cannot get these drivers to install... period?!?!

I have tried...

1. Remove Old Drivers through Add/Remove Programs

2. Reboot in to Safe Mode

3. Run Driver Sweeper 1.5.5

4. Run CCleaner 2.13

5. Reboot in to Normal Mode

6. Extract drivers to archive folder

7. Replace stock .inf with one from LV2Go

8. Run Setup.exe as Administrator

I have also tried removing the PhysX.exe and PDSetup.exe files from the archive folder (saw this suggestion over at Guru3d). I even tried installing the driver in Safe Mode, and manually updating the driver in Device Manager. I have also tried taking the stock .inf and only adding the extra device ID strings. I have even tried to uninstall my 'standard VGA' drivers in Device Manager and rebooting. Nothing seems to work...?!?! This is killing me..........

Does anyone have any suggestions?

-Thanks

Note - Vista x64 and GeForce 8500GT SLI

I have experienced the same crashes in following games:

- Need for speed pro street.

- Dar cry II.

- C&C Generals 3.

- Red alert 3.

- Sniper elite.

The same type of crashes.... freezes... and jump out of the game....

This driver definitely doesn't like my 7950 GX2. It installs ok but after rebooting the system, once you go past the windows logon screen, you just get a black screen and a mouse pointer. Not much fun, had to boot into safe mode to roll back the driver to 178.24, thankfully everything is back to normal now.

It is likely that people will experience problems like this as these are not 'official' drivers so to speak and fixes will have to be made.

i've tried to install farcry 2 yesterday, and funny things happend when installing the new driver. i started playing with the original bootcamp driver, slow, but it worked. then i took the new one from laptopvideo2go and now farcry tells me that no dx9 is installed. ok i thought, download and install. but the problem still exists. does anyone have in idea what i'm doing wrong? When Installing Bootcamp driver again, it works!?

Software: Vista64 Home Premium, Driver: 180.43

HW: MBP 2.53 GHz, GForce 9600M GT

[Edit]

got it right now, with reinstalling everything, no idea what was going wrong
