zipper
176.68 is the only one after 174.70 that I found as working via HDMI upto 1080i on my 8710w/Quadro 1600M. As a benchmarker it's not too good.

hola
NVIDIA HDA Audio is now a separate setup option in the latest HP NVIDIA drivers; use this 176 one from HP and select audio (you can tick off video): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp40501-41000/sp40665.exe

zipper
So even 176.68 doesn't work? Try first for instance clone mode 1280x720 (720p) and force TV detection on. Does the HDMI output during bootup when still on VGA output when tapping Fn+f4? (if it's the right combo to swap screens).
Corrosive
Was messing with outputting Blu Ray over a HDMI cable yesterday, its not the driver thats the issue, you can only have the HDMI on one screen at a time, so cloned aint gonna work, you'll either need to have yourself set to extended desktop, with the tv as primary, or, go into your nv control panel and set the tv as the only thing to use when connected. worked for me. on my hdx
zipper
But clone is the starting point - you see if you get any picture at all and then can start configuring individual screens. Most drivers have been able to see my Sony TV but give just black screen when tried.
zipper
Next working found - 176.92. It's a little faster but slow compared to 178.xx - 180.xx drivers.

zipper
Doesn't it have ATI video card? We tinker just with NVidia video drivers :)
