Jasperbones
Hello, i'm still looking for more 3D Power for my Acer 5920G (C2D 2Ghz 4GB Ram,Seagate 7200.3 320GB HDD 16MB Cache 7200rpm) the installed 8600m GT GDDR2 has excelent overclocking results, it runs without any problems (max 81°C) with default voltage at 600Mhz Chip and 500Mhz Memory (max 81°C) but it's still to slow for me. would the HD 3650 be faster? Modifications of Cooling and Case are no problem for me. Greetings Jasper
Morris
not very much, I will get mine sometime next week, I will tell you the difference on 3dmark06 and game experiences if you want, just email me at morrismurphy@gmail.com, then when I have results I will tell you. As far as additional cooling concerned, I don't think it would be a problem, 8600 is 80nm, 3650 is 55nm?(or 65nm) so it *should* be cooler. I would assume that stock 3650 should be little faster then 8600, with oc, it can go beyond.

Greetings Jasper Simply put: 8600m GT GDDR2 OC@600/400 with Grid running at 1280x800 with no aa everything else high, I can barely maintain 24fps. HD3650 GDDR3 OC@700/800 running a 35fps and sometimes hitting 40fps Crysis warhead: all mainstream 30+fps most of the time whilt the 8600m couldn't keep 20fps. Farcry 2 most of the options on high while the first 3 are on very high: 30+ fps.... Portal: 1920x1200 no AA everything else maxed out 40+ fps It is a quite powerful card IMHO. zipper
Benchmarks from notebookcheck show ATI 4% - 17% faster on default but probably they aren't 100% comparable.
Jasperbones
Pants Down, ^^ the DX10 Performance is not needed, i just need a fast card for World of Warcraft ^^ the CPU Usage is round about 70%,... but in some situations die FPS are <15 4 - 17%... hmm... i don't know... maybe i should look for a 9600m GT o0
zipper
9700M GTS is a better alternative, speedwise - if ever possible.
Jasperbones
the 9700m GT is a MXM-III Type the Acer Aspire has an MXM-II slot, i am not sure if it will be a good idea to use a MXM-III Card... the 9600m GT GDDR3 should bei ~50% faster compared to the GDDR3 8600m GT, the GDDR3 is stock faster than my OCed 8600 GDDR =(

At what resolution are you playing? I'm pretty sure the hd3650 is enough.
