RazorBlade
Hey Long time reader, first time poster :) I bought yesterday NFS Undercover, now the game won't run, well it will run but like running @ 1 FPS.... I will first post my system Acer Aspire 5920G 2gig ram Intel core 2 duo (dual core) running @ 2Ghz nVidia GeForce 8600M GT Windows Vista 32 Bit Now I did update my geforce drivers to 167.26 but now the game won't get past the NFS introscreen...it also goes like 1FPS....till the game starts i need 5 mins till the introscreen is over... Now I found three reasons why the game runs so poorly 1)It won't run on geforce lapotp-based cards 2)Driver is still too old...? 3)Game can't handle dual core...? Now the first reason is ridicoulus because I can run every game that I played, I'm even running Crysis on medium detail at a average of 40FPS....or more... Does anyone else have this problem and point me towards a good driver or so....??

LOL problem solved people who run this game on dual core set the game to 1 core apparantly you will get 1 FPS if the game is running on both cores.... BTW game runs on high settings here Gotta love the 8600M GT Edited November 20, 2008 by RazorBlade
Andrew55
Also you can try some newer drivers perhaps the 178.24 drivers. They should give slightly better performance. I dont know why that dual core issue is occurring as the onus should have been on EA to give that game multi-core support.

Hey I know, quad qore seems to have no problem with it, but the game wouldn't run for me at my dual core for some reason it was just frame per frame. I got the 176.xx driver atm can't remember the right number.. works like a charm

It is no Graphical problem since I run the game very good on High as long As I turn one core off for NFS.exe....
adz
How do you set the game to one core then? :)
killerpanda
How do you set the game to one core then? :) You go to task manager, right click need for speed game (nfs.exe) and set affinity to 1 core by unselecting the other box.
