I dont usally look for highest FPS.

I try and get things to run smoothly with less "Hitching" and stable/better min FPS as well as keeping image quality good :)

Of course all this slows things down, but not much due to the performance tweaks.

I feel its a better gaming experience this way.

My bad, I thought your drivers were for "godly" performance only. Well, let's see if it reduces my stuttering in WoW.....

My vista indexing score for my Gaming Graphics used to be 5.5 and after installing this driver it got decreased to 5.4.

Do i have to worry about it?

What do you recommend? Stick with these drivers or revert back to the original drivers?

Core 2 duo 2.6 Ghz, Nvidia 8600 M GT.

whay are you worried about an unreliable index score?

you should play some real games and check the performance.

if it really bothers you then go back to the original.

I recently formatted my laptop, so i don't have any game installed on my laptop yet.

I'm going to stick on with this driver until I get GTA 4.

I'll then test the performance and decide which driver to use.

Thanks for your response Dox.

Having a bit of an issue with these drivers. They install fine and run lovely... except for one thing.

When I try to run a game/application in anything but native resolution, I get the error 'Error loading NvMCTray.dll, The Specified module could not be found.', obviously because these drivers have NVTRAY removed. This is fine in itself, but this error appears everything I try to play anything at non-native resolution.

ahhh, interesting....

so can you still play games with that error?

or does that error doesnt allow games to be played?

does it appear when you change the res in the nvidia control panel or in the settings in the game itself?

Thanks for telling me this, Now I know what all the nvidia files does :) :) :P

Please let me know answer to my questions so I can fix thing next release accordingly.

also have you fully cleaned uninstall the previous drivers??

since it may be a left over reg value (from previous drivers) looking for the missing file, which shouldn't be the case since I removed that from the reg enteries :P

My 3dmark 06 doesn't work with this drivers. It gives the message about NvMCTray.DLL error and another message: IDirect3DDevice9::Present failed: Device lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST). What's going on?

The games still continue to run and work perfectly fine (although because of the error notification popup box, many games are minimised and unable to be re-maximised, such as UT3).

It also happens when trying to change resolution from Display Properties, as well as from the Nvidia Control Panel... any resolution change causes the error to appear.

I always uninstall driver from Add/Remove Programs, run DriverSweeper, restart into Safe Mode and run DriverSweeper again to be sure... so it's always a clean install.

I've had to revert to my previous driver for now, but aside from the error, the drivers are excellent, and I look forward to a fixed release!

oh, boo hoo,

seems like I over optimised this time round :)

Will get it fixed for sure.

the min fps gets increased by 2 in FEAR benchmark while max fps dropped by 1 ~ 2 which I don't care so much.

Thanks for great driver and waiting for your new fix driver :)

the clocks on 180.43 and .44 didnot downclock to 2d perf level, they were stuck on mid way clocks.

that issue is fixed now

Hi,

If I change the 3D settings in the Control Panel, does that remove your tweaks? Or are the tweaks across the board so its always in effect whether I change it to high performance or high quality?

Looks great, as your custom drivers always do.

Most recent games I'm getting a slight FPS improvement, particularly with the minimum and average.

Other games are still not as strong as they were with your 178.24 etc.

Up just over a percent on 3dmark06, compare to your 180.44.

No problems with anything noticed so far.

Cheers.

Post feeback, suggestions, comments and issues here.

Hi Dox, your support for mobile Gaming is legendary, just a quick question, i'm assuming your Clevo is running 8800GTX i Sli, I tried the latest 180.170, drivers i.e. not your version and wneh playing Oblivion performance was worse than using the 179.13's and Blu-Ray would not work.... again! Seems that I can either have performance of Blu-Ray working, does your driver support both?

Thanks

OB

Hi DOX, can't say how much i appreciated your custom drivers. Great work! :)

However I realised that the 180.70 seems to be slower than the 180.44

With 180.44, COD4 seems to run smoothly without stuttering but that's not the case for 180.70

Besides, i also noticed that 180.70 is not as responsive as 180.44 while working in vista 32-bit

I was wondering is there an explanation for this.

Your help would be much appreciated, thank you. :)

is that right? :)

maybe I just use DOX 180.44, because I just start playing CoD4...

@The Bouncer

Which one is better for CoD4? original 180.48 that Im using right now, or DOX 180.44? thanks bro
