zipper
That's still quite mild overclock, default 800 MHz DDR3 clocks happily to 900-950 MHz.
zoldaten
So till what limit i can overclock it ?! would be nice to use my card for full power of it!)))

zipper
By default my lappie offers no option to overclock CPU.
zoldaten
so what you'll say about GPU till what limit i can overclock it !?
zipper
GPU near 800, memory near 1000. I'd say start from 760/960 and try a little higher until gfx errors or freezes show up, then back 10-20. And monitor the temperature! zoldaten
ok with what temperature 8700m gt in danger ?! coz i already reached the top of 65c ! is it fine if temperature will be 70c ?!
zipper
I think 81 is the highest I've seen here so far - pretty benign IMO.
zoldaten
783\1566\926 core\shader\mem top temp 70c i'm not preaty sure if vid will survive in 81c i mean it's extrimely high temp. i'm not sure is it a good idea to use core more then 820 coz temp. and possibly there will be some graphic problems in the games but possibly it's fine to continue overclock mem and shader Edited December 10, 2008 by zoldaten
zipper
All mobile chips I know have their protection treshold set on at least 105 C and they work happily on 80-85 C - of course lower is better.

zipper
Same here - I do it just for brief tests - if fps is the problem I'll save for a faster system. Had bad luck as 8800 systems came just a week - two later when I purchased this one.
zoldaten
hahahaha same same )))) exactly after a week)))) do you know anything about sager laptops ?! coz i checked and they have very nice price and configurations
zipper
Not sold here, but they come in many disguises and I think branded as Zepto also available here - a severe candidate for my next one. Not as pricey as Alienware I think. ...well it was quite close that I'd bought a lappie just like you, but they were out of stock...
