Forceware 180.84

I'm working on making drivers based on Offiical nvidia ones, such as 179.28 which shouldn't have that issue.

Can't wait for those. I Tried Dox's 180.xx and loved the performance but the sleep issues (no fault of Dox) meant that I had to switch to 179.28, pity.

hi had a play about and found to my horror quake 4 was just a load of squares and triangles!! this probably means more to you guys so i thought i'd mention it,

my specs are:-

xps m1710

2.16gz core duo

3 gig 667mz ddr ram

geforce go 7950 gtx 512mb

xp 32 bit sp3 all updates

at the min 178.24 seems to be the best for me after doing a few benchmarks but dox's 180.84 seemed to be cutting the stuttering down a bit on oblivion, and fallout 3 runs luvely with dox's

Hi Dox, can I make a special request? Your current customized forceware 180.84.1 doesn't support smartdimmer. Would you please guide me so that I can use smartdimmer. Thank you

Is anyone of you using 180.84.1 and playing Sacred 2?

I just recently tried to run my Sacred 2 and discovered that there are severe graphical glitches.

I tried setting down every setting to the minimum and even resetting it up to the settings I usually play with (everything maxed out) but it didn't solve the problem.

For example, the main menu only shows my char and some rocks (plus grass if I turn the details up).

When I load the game, it only displays the ground and the HUD. No char, no effects (when I use a spell), no enemies, ... Just the ground is textured, everything else is invisible.

A quick google didn't bring up any results (mostly errors connected to the elite textures).

I'm using Sacred 2 v. 2.34.0 (I was using 2.12 without this problem and updated to 2.34 once I noticed the graphical problems).

My Windows Vista Home Premium is up to date (therefore all updates from Windows Update, SP 1).

I'm using Dox's optimised Forceware 180.84.1.

Every other game I play runs fine (Prince of Persia, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead)

My specs are:

Core 2 Duo T7200

7900 GSX (a GS modded with a GTX bios) with 256 MB

4 GB Ram

Creative X-Fi Notebook Xtreme Audio

does the original 180.84 have this problem?

Are you using the "balance" preset with my drivers?

You could try the official nvidia mobile 179.28.

These drivers are great! They fixed the no texture problem in GTA 4, and they also fixed a problem in Call of Duty 4 that I was having - all of the player models would flash as textured and then not textured (all-black) non-stop, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it!!!

I do have a problem though - I used to overclock my card using ATITool, but now, I seem unable to overclock my card anymore. Is this to be expected? Is there something I can do to change that?

Thanks again!

This is supposed to support mobile drivers right? But I've been seeing a lot of people complaining that it's causing a lot of problems for their laptops. Can anyone confirm that Powermizer, SmartDimmer, all the other laptop-only features working CORRECTLY? If this driver will keep my laptop's GPU running in '3D' mode even when its idle, it's certainly a no-no for me. I specifically got scared of one poster that got hardware damage. It's most probably from the GPU running as hot as f*ck or it's probably the damn drivers overclocking the GPU while running the game to give an illusion of better performance.

If these drivers aren't laptop-certified, why the f*ck is it posted here in LaptopVideo2Go? Of all forums... it shouldn't be here if it's for desktop cards only.

these are desktop drivers modified to run on laptops gpus etc.

Unfortunately this is the support thread, hence you get people posting issues here,

you wont see many people praising my drivers here.

Its also impossible to overclock a driver by installing it.

Powermizer works

I have disabled smart dimmer since it doesnt work 100% for all users

These drivers are posted at laptopvideo2go since we specialise in modding drivers to support all gpus: desktop and mobile :)

80% of the drivers found here are desktop drivers with modded inf to support mobile cards.

So yes, it belong in laptopvideo2go :)

So I'm not entirely sure what your agrro is about?

You've read the issues SOME users experienced,

you don't like it?

Then don't show interest in using it and venting you frustrations here,

Simply use others drivers found elsewhere.

hope you had a good christmas and heres to a good new year.

if you want to overclock you can use 179.28 from nvidia since they unlocked overclocking for most cards.

Use ntune.

Calm down a little! Look attentively through the installation process and see the read me file, in which it stated that

"Normal" functions to do with with your

laptop may not work compared to drivers provided

Issues will exists such as:

-You may have higher temperature for your gpu

-Waking up from sleep may not work

-TV out/ dual screen etc may not work 100%

etc

In such cases you should continue using drivers

provided to you by your manufacturer if you are bothered by that.

If you haven`t noticed that, it`s not the reason to shout WTF! and so on.

I would, but I have a go7900GS, and apparently the 179.28 only supports 8 and 9 series cards :-(

Do the 179.28 fix the GTA problem, (and hopefully my COD4 problem as well)?

Did you decide to lock overclocking with your drivers, or is it something you just don't want to bother yourself with? I have no idea what goes into it, so sorry if I sound misinformed.

It just makes me sad, because these drivers fix all my problems, but now I can't overclock. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too :-(
