GovtMule
I have an Averatec D1002UHCE-1 AIO PC with an MXM type II slot. I just bought an ASUS 8600M GT 256MB GDDR3 type II card to go in. Will this work. I know the board in my system is produced by ECS. Thanks. Andrew55
Have never heard of that model before but since you say that it has a mxm type 2 slot then the card shouldn't have any problem being installed.
GovtMule
So there should be no troubles with bios or anything? EDIT Just cancelled 8600m GT .... think I am gonna order the ATI 3650 instead due to the reading I have done on this and other forums. Will this card also work? Will I have to change bios' or anything like that? And what sort of drivers do I use... from ATI or otherwise? thanks so much... I know nothing about any of this and am tryin to learn. 350zrb
I also have Averatec D1002UHCE-1 with 8400M GS (256MB). I tried 8600M GS (512MB), PC boots OK but screen is blank (black). I can hear Windows Vista sound at boot, HD light is blinking. So I put 8400M GS back in. Now I don't know what other MXM II model I should try. Any suggestion, anyone? Thanks PS. I have 8600M GS (512MB) for sale.

After installing did you go to CMOS set up to see whether BIOS detected new hardware?? If either didn't work thats a really major set back.I'm still exploring for options. I don't know if 8600 GS is compatibale with your system First uninstall current video card driver ,shut down pc and install new card and check BIOS setting to enable to new video card, if the screen is blank I would reinsert the card again to make sure its seated properely

So I waited, and I can hear Vista sound (i.e. it is booting OK to Vista). Just can't see anything. Can't go to CMOS cause I can't see it. Put in original and it works fine. Put in the new card and blank screen -can't go to CMOS.

I don't hear any beep. It appears to boot normally just blank screen. I also tried 8600M GT, same result. :)

I also tried 8600M GT, same result. :) Its likely BIOS issue, contact your pc manufacturer and report those issues so that they will work/release new patches and upgrades for BIOS. Guest Interested Person
I also have this computer at would like to bump up the graphics capabilities. I ran across this website for Averatec nVidia Graphic Cards and it lists the 8600M GT. Maybe you can try this. http://www.drivershq.com/Drivers/VistaDevi...27/Drivers.aspx If it works please let everyone know. Thanks.
Guest Interested Person
There is a more recent driver on Trigem's website that also indicates that it supports the 8600M GT. Must be a BIOS issue.
