dimnim
Hi! About a year ago i bought my laptop. It is a HP Pavillion DV6660EV.It had windows Vista Home premium on it and then i install the XP pro SP3. For GPU i used the 156.55 drivers version.Yesterday i downloaded and installed the 181 with the modded inf file. For my surprise after the restart my resolution was 640x480 with 256 colors! :) I tried many versions 17x.xx with the same problem! The system recognised the gpu but the resolution can't be changed!!! Anyone knows what is going on or a solution to this problem. Thank you in advance.
Guest Guest
Use the 179.28 MOBILE drivers from NVIDIA's website. The 181's are desktop drivers anyway.

zipper
Such an old driver leaves remnants that interfere with new drivers causing unexpected errors so driver cleaning is a necessity (for me preventing overclocking).
