i am a user of COMPAQ PRESARIO V3828AU.

The driver is Nvidia MCP67M(compaq website give this) or GeFORCE GO 7150M/nforce 630m(but the casing of laptop say it is this),128MB.

ITS DRIVER VERSION IS 175.71 and IT IS A ORIGINAL DRIVER FROM COMPAQ`S WEBSITE.

i am using vista 32bit.

i have upgrade my RAM to 3GB.

i notice when i play game,it become terible laggy after i play only for few minutes! but this only happen when i play game of higher graphic like counter strike source, command & conquer tiberian sun 3,red alert 3,need for speed carbon EVEN I HAVE CHANGE ALL THE GRAPHIC SETTING TO LOW.

it did not happen if i play red alert 2,warcraft 3..........

i know its normal if the game laggy in a high graphic game,BUT

THE PROBLEM IS.....I HAVE A FRIEND WHO USING A LAPTOP AS SAME AS ME(V3828AU) WHO DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM!!

we both use vista 32bit!!

AND HE JUST GOT 2GB RAM!!

and the driver version is same as it is come from the compaq website.

if he V3828AU can,why MINE CAN NOT??

i have try 4 or 5 driver from this site but the problem still there.

Try disabling PowerMizer, and before you install a new driver make sure you use a driver cleaning tool.

Maybe your GPU gets to hot! Do you have a check tool, like the nVidia Sidebar gadget, which i use?

If yout GPU gets to hot check your fans and clean them, thats all i can say^^

I hope it helps :)

I'd say such speed problems that creep in after some time are mostly brought by overheating components but may be promoted by software. A different driver may help but cleaning is the primary cure.
