Guest Just Another Guest
I've got a bit of a minor problem that I've seen popping up irregularly here. Whenever I play a game in a resolution different from my laptop's native, Vista will automatically resize itself to the resolution I was using when I was playing the game. My stats: Dell XPS 1730, Intel 2 Duo Core 2.4ghz, 4gb RAM, 8700M GT running the 179.14 drivers I'm really in the dark here as to how to fix this (even though it's not that big of a problem), but any help with this would be much appreciated. Blacky
I have the same thing with World in Conflict on a 9800M. I have noticed that is probably driver related as it only happens with certain drivers. For example with the official 179.28 drivers in never happens, but happens with the latest DOX drivers. Edit: also used to happen with the 185.20 drivers. Edited January 14, 2009 by Blacky
FrozenLord
I know about this problem. It happens, when you shutdown your PC while ingame. Therefore, you don't quit teh game before shutting down butrather press the power button of your PC while ingame. Vista will then boot with the resolution of the game you played. It's easy to "fix". Just set your risplay resolution and remember to quit games before shutting down. At least, that worked for me
Blacky
Not my case, sorry :) . Sometimes play a few minutes, maybe half an hour and than do some work. After I shut down and power back up in the morning... the screen resolution is the game resolution.
Galdere
What are the desktop and game resolutions you are using? Are you hibernating instead of a proper power down? Are you running any compatibility modes? Have you tried running the game in windowed mode and then full screen, close and restart?
Blacky
DEsktop is 1920x1200 - game 1680x1050. No, I am doing normal shut down, no hibernation. No compatibility mode. I haven't tried windowed mode vs. full screen to see what happenes. Seems to happen only with some drivers... for example with Nvidia's 179.28 it never happens.
