Guest l2sail
On a fresh install of Vista and Counter-strike: Source, all current drivers, I found my framerate dropping down as low as 15fps for no apparent reason. I've tried a bunch of different drivers, and also done a fresh install of XP...now it almost seems worse. GPU temps are stable below 65, 3dmark score is 3154. As far as I can tell that's normal? CSS is virtually unplayable for me right now...I see other with similar systems getting 100+ FPS constant. I've tried turning the settings all the way down to no avail, any ideas? Have you tried Dox 181.20? They are highly optimised http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=22670 Maybe the reason is GPU downclocking - what clocks do you use during gaming? Guest Guest
Make sure your bios is set to allow cpu speed stepping. Do you have the 8600M GT or the 8400M GS.

Installed 180.1 drivers...no effect. Frames are fairly constant between 120-160 then randomly drops to sub-30 in firefights etc... In the video stress-test, average fps was 140.
