"locked" graphics card

hey again

i was just wondering if my GPU is "locked" because it doesnt allow overclocking with any driver. is there any way to check if this is true for my GPU ??

Besides 169.04, you can try 179.28. Some have gotten it to work.

I actually was able to get 179.28 to overclock.

I don't honestly remember being able to before, but whatever. It works now!

185.20 is performing excellent and it also removes the overclocking lock - I have managed to obtain about 1000 3DMark06 extra points, with my 9500M GS, like I've told before, here in the forums.

that is very nice but i mean i can not overcock with any drvier. that includes 179.28, 181.22(using them now), 185.20,... though i havent tryed 169.04 yet, but even if i will be able to overclock with this driver what will it halp me with ? if ill update the driver the overclocking will reset itself to stock clocks and im not going to use a "slightly" outdated driver... but nevertheless ill try them and will report back.

Are you performing a clean installation (uninstall, DriverCleaner/Sweep, install)?

sure i am ... i use driver sweeper and all thease procedures ( driver sweeper, uninstall driver, ... etc. im not a noob :) )
