Unable to adjust laptop brightness after removal of display drivers

Model : ASUS F8SN notebook

Problem : After I uninstall my display drivers (no version in particular) for my Nvidia 9500M GS, i am unable to adjust my laptop brightness using the Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 hotkeys.

Drivers uninstalled is the stock Asus drivers that comes with my laptop, did not manage to record it down. Drivers installed is the 181.20 with modified inf.

Is anybody able to explain why? I know how to remove drivers properly, and install them properly also. However, by then, i am unable to adjust the laptop brightness anymore. By default, even if i uninstall my Nvidia display drivers, i should still be able to adjust it.

The only way to fix this is to do a system restore to the time before i remove my the stock drivers.
