Hi mobilenvidia!

Thanks a lot for the driver and its modded inf, great works as usual :)

Hi rvalencia!

Do you mean there is no sleep issue with this driver rev?

If no, I'll downgrade from 185.20 to 182.05 as well. Thanks for the info.

According to your sig you use powermizer, well some they say that 180xx and 181xx even in 185.20 if you enable the powermizer on these drivers or for the 185.20 if you try to work around to make it happen sleep issues will accumulate. I use 185.20 as it is (w/o modded inf) my graphic card same as yours (8600m gt gddr3 256mb) originally there is no powermizer setting for this 185.20, if I want to downclock I use rivatuner (force constant performance level) not friendly though coz you need to rebot every time you had to change setting. but if your sig is optimized for fast boot you wont have any problem. Mine is waking up from sleep w/o issues even in 2D mode. Hibernation as well...

At least, certainly not the last and perhaps a stupid question!

This driver can support PhysX if I install separately the software which is not included in the above file, right?

I'm aware of the workaround.

3dMark06 benchmarks dropped about 100 points from 185.20 however sleep mode works without a hitch so I'd recommend this over 185.20 to mobile users

What is the stability like for these drivers? (Particularly in FO3)

PS: I like the look of the windows 7 task bar. Its very neat :)

What is 3DMarks06's scores (and resolution)?

Sorry dude! I don't bench anymore (wheeew sick and tired of it)... I only use real time games to measure how good the driver is, like:

assassins creed: Full note settings, DX10, 2xAA, crowd density maximum, 1280x800 resolution (native, unfortunately) 8600m gt gddr3 256mb stock clock max temp at 73c playable a bit of lags: overclock to 650/1375/900 (game is flying dude) max temp 77c.

:) may cry 4: High settings (there is a SUPER HIGH settings FYI), DX10, 2xAA, 1280x800, gpu settings set to quality overclock at 650/1375/900 max temp at 75c completely playable. Use the built in benchmark got a score of D (too bad) but as i say its completely playable. (Didn't try stock clock yet)

Prince of Persia 2008: High settings, 2xAA, vertical sync is on, 1280x800 stock clock max temp at 73c (game is flying)

World in Conflict: Medium settings, DX9, 1280x800 use the built in benchmark, gpu stock clock 28 AVE FPS; 650/1375/900 37 AVE FPS. Playing online at stock clock max temp at 74c

All test have been done on a couple of hours may be around 2hours on a gpu sets on Application controlled except DMC4.

Temp measured w/ zalman nc1000 (fans sets to maximum)

Idle Temp while typing this message 56c-59c

Gladly there is no issues on any of my games :)

I've done some comparison benchmark test w/ this driver against the nvidia forceware 179.48 for mobile GPU.

Here is my sig:

Dell XPS m1530 (1280x800 resolution)

Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 x86

Intel core 2 duo T8300 @ 2.4GHZ (undervolted FID=12x; VID=1.0500)

4GB ddr2 667mhz memory (3.5GB utilized by windows)

320GB HDD @ 5400rpm WD

Nvidia Geforce 8600m GT gddr3 256mb

I've used :) may cry 4 & World in conflict perfomance test utility:

All test has been done once only and the cpu has been lock to its max performance via RMclock Utility just to prevent variation of cpu utilization.

Here it is:

:) may cry 4: high settings, DX10, AA off, framerate sets to variable,

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

179.48

scene 1 scene 2 scene 3 scene4 Max temp

stock clock 44.72fps 30.13fps 50.78fps 25.82fps 72c

o/c (650/1375/900) 60.95fps 43.20fps 71.63fps 34.49fps 76c

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

182.05 dox optimised

stock clock 46.28fps 32.78fps 56.52fps 29.81fps 73c

o/c (650/1375/900) 65.08fps 45.81fps 77.52fps 41.13fps 77c

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WIC: Medium settings, DX9, AA off

179.48

stock clock= 28 fps (Average) Max Temp= 71c

o/c (650/1375/900)= 37 fps (Average) Max Temp= 74c

-------------------------------------------------------------------

182.05 dox optimised

stock clock= 29 fps (Average) Max Temp= 73c

o/c (650/1375/900)= 39 fps (Average) Max Temp= 74c

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Besides from the sleep mode and hibernation is working properly on this driver even when powermizer is on, (for the 1st time on my sig from 18xxx drivers) I've noticed that the temp was very good as well, slight difference from the forceware 179.48.

Thank you very much Dox wonderful job...

This is what we call "EXIT WITH GRACE"...

I'm gonna keep this driver until nvidia defeats this one or until your next release...

Thanks again... See you around...

Does anyone know why is the twice size difference vs 182.50?

Thanks.
