Where can I find Quadro FX 3600M drivers for games use ?

Hi everybody I'm totally new in this forum and I have a question in which I believe you can help me.

Today I ordered the HP Compaq 8710w with the Quadro FX 3600M and I'm wondering about where I can find the drivers for games use.

I found in the HP site these drivers http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...p;swEnvOID=1093 but I don't believe they are the right ones for games.

Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for your fast reply m8.

I read all over the internet that Quadro FX 3600M is really bad in games and I'm starting to worry about my choice.

Apart from that I read some instructions about how to install modified .inf files and that confused me even more.

So the one that you proposed to me I have just to install it or I have to do something more?

What's the difference between this driver http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=22521 and the one you proposed http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=22942 ?

The latter is optimised for laptops and should be a good choice for you - no playing with infs.

OK guys thanks a lot for your answers :)

If I'll have any problem I'll inform you.

ps. zipper as I can see you have the 8710w with the Quadro FX 1600M, are you satisfied with the games performance or not ?

You should get similar performance to an 8800M GTX/9800M GT(EDIT: 8800M GTS), which is very good for a laptop.

Dox's drivers are best.

Not with the latest games - but it does what expected from a 128bit memory bottlenecked 32 unified shaders card. A little less demanding games do run OK. It's an 8700M Gt in disguise and runs about as fast.

This period the HP Compaq 8710w costs in Greece about 900 euros so to be honest it doesn't matter me very much if the perfomance in games of the Quadro FX 3600M isn't close to the 8800M GTX/9800M GT perfomance.

At least it would be much more better than the other 900euros laptops gpus.

Hmm, I shouldn't trust notebookcheck's stats, a Quadro 3600M is equivalent to an 8800M GTS.

Sorry about the confusion. Still sounds like you've got a good deal.

Here's a review of your laptop. Looks like you can expect 8K in 3DMark06.

Finally the score I achieved with the Quadro FX 3600M custom drivers using the 3dmark06 is 7300 points and using Dox's drivers 185.20 I achieved 7600 points and they work just perfect in every game :) . (I achieved these scores in 1680 x 1050 resolution)

My last question is about changing the color temperature in my laptop's screen because I can't properly setup the color settings.

Does anybody know how I can do that ?

Thx for all guys

This is probably a tad faster still:

Haven't been tampering with the colour settings as I use external screen with own settings.

No it's just the same results with both drivers.

In 1280x1024 resolution I achieved 8500 score in 3dmark06 :)

Pretty good compared to my 5300 with FX 1600M.
