qwer1304 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Share Posted February 19, 2009 Hi, Now it's my turn to combat the dreadful black & white TV-out on a Dell :) Configuration: Dell XPS M1210 GeForce 7400 Cable: S-Video to RCA Win32 XP SP3 + latest patches Drivers tried: Dell: R153475 (94.22), R169629 (156.65), R173744 (156.83), R180919 (174.31) Enhanced: 86.02, 169.09, 178.15, 180.43 Tried: Upping Saturation, Contrast, Brightness to 100% - No effect Changing format to various NTSC and PAL - no effect Observation: When laptop boots, TV has color for short time and then turns b&w. S-Video is extremely voltage-sensitive and laptop chips are notoriously bad at supplying or sustaining the needed voltage. Use the shortest and best-shielded cable you can find.
